What is it about?

The paper looks into a simple receiver design for receiving the desired vibration signals in a multiple vibration environment. The system also put the issue of security into consideration especially for applications where confidentiality of the recorded vibration signal is necessary such as in intruder detection and some military applications.

Why is it important?

The paper is important as it gives recommendation for what it thinks is the most appropriate decoding technique for OCDMA based vibration monitoring based on the observed results.

Perspectives

The issue expressed in this publication has been an issue that is of more concern to the general public. Vibration measurement should be taken into cognizance be it due to its positive effect or the adverse one. From the negative points of view. Human body has the maximum vibration range that should not be subjected beyond. the only way to know such is by adequate measurement. In the other way round, vibration measurement has been used in intruder alarm, such as has it is used in pipeline monitoring, military application, surveillance application and etc. In this view, an intruder may be aware of multiple vibration measurement but due to security put in place, differentiating between the signal may become confusing to him. More so, this work makes the decoding technique as simple as possible to save cost and complexity while still ensuring confidentiality of the signals.
