What is it about?

Battery operated active implantable medical devices (AIMDs) can provide an electeical stimulus that is used for the treatment of a number of neurological diseases that are very difficult to treat with conventional medical approaches such as drugs and surgery. The problem with most AIMDs is the size of the battery. This paper investigates the performance of wireless power transmission in human tissue and demonstrates its feasibility to be used for nerve stimularion.
