What is it about?

Optimal cost of WAMS is not only depends upon the cost of PMUs, it also depends upon the communication infrastructure for example cost of fiber optics, cost of switches, labor cost etc. PMUs affect only 5 % of the total installation cost of WAMS. In this paper, a novel multi-objective function has been proposed to optimize the number of PMUs, maximize the observability and also minimize the cost due to communication infrastructure.
