Why is it important?

It is important to have an optimized planning of power system.This study proposes an optimized operational strategy which increases the robustness of smart grid against outages caused by bad weather conditions.

Perspectives

Operational planning of electric power systems of the future grids need to be smarter than what they are today. Flexibility, real time planing and learning are the main characteristics of smart grids. To have a smarter grid means to have a clear and well defined optimized operational planning for any circumstances that may occur in grid based on history of that particular grid or forecasting of the operating conditions ... The aim of the paper is to take a step toward smartness of the traditional electric distribution grids.
