Why is it important?

The proposed method are developed inside european project (DISCERN) in collaboration beween a spanish utility (Unión Fenosa Distribución) and a swedish university (KTH). The method has been tested on a low voltage network based on real utility data.

In the paper, you can find the analysis for the 4 main communication scenarios with different communication configurations (GSM/GPRS, PLC, virtual concentration) and optimal studies have been made considering QoS requirements, devices and deployment costs for smart meters, gateways and rest of ICT systems .
