What is it about?
In order to improve the computational efficiency of electromagnetic transient simulation in power system, as well as avoiding the numerical oscillation, the high order Radau method and V-transformation is proposed for electromagnetic transient simulation.

Why is it important?
Because the Radau IIA method is both L-stable and non-linear B-stable, the numerical oscillation can be avoided effectively without any extra detection for sudden changes of variables, which is quite different from traditional numerical integration algorithm. Taking advantage of the important V-transformation feature of high order Radau IIA method, the discrete high-dimension algebraic equation used for solving differential equation can be decoupled into blocks, thus the multi-stage block recursive method can be formed. In this way, we can adopt larger integration step of high order Radau IIA method to acquire faster computational speed in EMT simulations.
