What is it about?

This paper aims at investigating the influence of stator slot dimension on the performance of the permanent Magnet Synchronous motor, including magnetic field distribution and temperature field.

Why is it important?

Slot dimension changes will affect the motor's distribution of the magnetic field and loss. Although the loss of permanent magnets and magnetic bridges changes very small, due to the constraint of heat dissipation condition, their temperature rise may increase significantly. The temperature rise of the permanent magnet is related to the working performance of the PMSM and the reliability of the system. The excessive temperature of the magnetic bridge may cause it to be fused. Therefore, this paper establishes a system-level model including inverters, motors, and control algorithms to accurately analyze the above problems.

Perspectives

I am very excited that this paper can be published in IET, and I hope this paper can provide some reference for the designer of permanent magnet motor. I also hope that this paper can provide some ideas for the modeling of motor systems.
