What is it about?

A technique of obtaining Cole-Cole plot to characterize the dielectric response of transformer insulation considering distributed relaxation process. In addition to this from the plot ‘relaxation time’ and ‘distribution parameter’ are calculated for a clearer physical understanding of the relaxation process inside insulation. These parameters are directly related with the state of insulation and operating conditions.

Why is it important?

From the plot of cole-cole ‘relaxation time’ and ‘distribution parameter’ are calculated for a clearer physical understanding of the relaxation process inside insulation. These parameters are directly related with the state of insulation and operating conditions.

Perspectives

The strength of the proposed tool is that it involves interrelationship among both time and frequency domains with added degree of accuracy by the way of including the concepts of distributed relaxation processes. The present work has not been attempted by any researchers.
