What is it about?

Path loss of on-body UWB channels are experimentally analysed for different frequency bands defined in IEEE 802.15.6 standard. Variations of path loss parameters with the size of body are analysed. The variations are also analysed with the surrounding environment. These are prerequisite for efficient realisation of BAN system based on UWB radio

Why is it important?

UWB radio is more appropriate for WBAN applications. The on-body UWB path loss analysis is utmost important for development of UWB WBAN systems

Perspectives

The path loss of on-body UWB channels vary at difference frequency sub-bands. it vary with the size of body as well as with the surrounding environment. Detailed variations are analysed based on measurement performed in a realistic environment and reported.
