What is it about?

Non-periodic pulse signal detection is an important problem in signal processing. The Duffing oscillator system previously used for the detection of non-periodic pulse signal is a form of weak coupling. We proposed a strong coupling form, and by changing the time scale, the coupled Duffing oscillator system can be applied to any signal sampling frequency. Through simulation, we found that the coupled Duffing oscillator system has better detection performance than the previous system, and achieves the detection signal-to-noise ratio of -27dB.

Why is it important?

The detection of non-periodic pulse signal has been widely applied in the field of communication signal detection, radar signal spectrum detection, impulse radar signal detection, partial discharge detection in power system, impulse detection of mechanical system and other engineering fields. The method we proposed is a universal signal processing method, which does not limit the specific scene of the application, so it has a wide application value.

Perspectives

We hope this article will guide engineers to design signal detection systems in different engineering applications. The proposed system can be used as a digital filter for signal detection. The proposed system can be built by digital circuit, and it is very simple and convenient to build. We hope the method can create value in practical engineering applications.
