What is it about?
Piezoelectric microgenerator with PPE (parallel plate electrodes ) , IDE (Interdigitated electrodes) , ME (mesh electrodes) electrodes are comparatively examined w.r. to fabrication process and performance .

Why is it important?
IDE are superior among all electrodes at cost of complex and costly fabrication steps. IDE contribute 2-3 times more as compared to PPE. Parallel plate Mesh electrodes are easy to fabricate and perform comparable with IDE.
Perspectives
Traditional PPE electrodes are prone to cracks and internal defects upon bending or stretching , IDE demand complex and sophisticated setup at micro level . Thus ME is the key solution to these problems.
