What is it about?

beta-divergence based segmentation model for radar images.

Featured Image

Why is it important?

Finding a mean of the segmented region is very important in center-based segmentation, such as k-means. In this paper, we show that we can find the mean in closed form irrespective of the noise types which can be explained with beta-divergence, e.g., multiplicative noise, poisson noise, gaussian noise etc.

Perspectives

This paper shows usefulness of the beta-divergence in various image segmentation problems.
