What is it about?

This paper proposed a novel type of microphone sensors based on frequency delta-sigma modulation technique, which features wide band and large dynamic range digital output. We fabricated a prototype device and demonstrated the basic operation.

I think the frequency delta sigma modulation technique is a superior analog/digital conversion technique, which is suitable for various sensors. This microphone is a good example.
