What is it about?

A cross Gramian based frequency-weighted model/controller order reduction technique is proposed for SISO and symmetric MIMO stable systems. The proposed algorithm is numerically efficient and does not require the original system to be minimal.

Previous frequency weighted balanced truncation techniques suffer numerical difficulties and are generally ill conditioned.

Perspectives

It is so far the best alternative available to Enn's technique which becomes ill conditioned and computationally expensive when the size of the model is increased.
