What is it about?

The TDOA and FDOA measurements between two receivers can be simultaneously estimated by using the cross ambiguity function (CAF). In this paper, we described a method of reducing the effect of ISIs for enhancing the performance prior to calculating CAF.

Why is it important?

The locally most powerful (LMP) test is used for calculating the detection probability of the AOA measurement according to the specified bearing angle. The detection probability is used for obtaining the modified CRLB which consists of both the with-ISI and the without- ISI terms. The performance improvement was numerically calculated for the two emitters with three array antennas at each receiver site.

Perspectives

This result can be used to enhance the performance of estimating the location of mobile targets by CAF.
