What is it about?

Conducted noise EMI reduction is always an attractive solution both in academic as well as industry research. This paper proposes a new method of conducted noise reduction, which is an added advantage to a switched capacitor converter. Switched capacitor converters are popular as low power converters and filters. This is a new method in that it uses the isolation property of switched capacitors.

Why is it important?

The method proposed in this can be incorporated into a switched capacitor converter. So this becomes a extra advantage of EMI filtering along with a converter. It can also be extended to conventional buck converters by carefully choosing the switch topology.

Perspectives

The future of switching converters will be a mixed topologies. Any switching converters which can provide EMI filtering is always an attractive solution due to cost concerns.
