What is it about?

Uses techniques from control systems to create an algorithm that adjusts automatically the power of the transmitter compensating for interference from the environment. The goal is to keep the reception quality constant, more or less. The algorithm does not depend on any special information being transferred between the nodes.

Why is it important?

Because it does not depend on special information being transmitted it does not alter the communication protocol. Therefore, it is compatible with virtually any protocol. Also, because of the controller chosen (linear time-invariant) it is very simple to implement.

Perspectives

I hope that this work will show that it is possible to control the reception quality indirectly and without depending on special information being transmitted. Also, this shows the importance of leveraging the knowledge developed in other areas, in this case the control systems.
