What is it about?

This paper presents a novel MDA approach for decision makers to elicit and gather their goals and objectives, through uml profile based models so-called (GoalCases and SGAP) in order to build the future data warehouse.

Why is it important?

We define a new cim architecture for data warehousing projects which covers the early and late requirements analysis phases, by means of adopting OMG modeling standards (uses cases, and BPMN) to decisional systems, instead of using others traditional standards often employed in litterature for the same purpose, such as GRL. Hence, our work aims to present a new BI-UML tool to help decisions makers in modeling their needs and expectations concerning the system-to-be. Furthermore, a cim specification using SBVR was given to bridge the gap between the cim and pim levels, as well as expressing system requirements in a comprehensible manner for both IT and business people.

Perspectives

Implementing an MDA framework to support our approach is a perspective for our previous work. Deducing multidimensional schema (pim) from the obtained requirements (cim) is a further perspective.
