What is it about?

The cost by the VSC is recovered in few years as compared to conventional solar PV inverter. The cost of the PQ enhancement devices are also saved. The over all cost of the system is low, and space required for the system is also less due to absence of the battery.This work integrate the solar PV converter to the utility grid. The SPV converter not only feeds the extracted active power from the PV array to the grid, but it also increases the utilization of the VSC by load compensation during day time, and during night hours acts as DSTATCOM. Thus, reduces the distribution losses. improves the DPF and PF of the grid current. The THD in grid current and grid voltage are with in the limit imposed by IEEE-519 and IEEE-929.

Why is it important?

frequency adaptive, very simple, uses mathematical approach, thus does not require tuning of parameters. The system is robust, and it can work under grid disturbances, under over voltage and under voltage condition. The solar converter is inherently protected under short circuit condition due current control.
