What is it about?
We use Bat algorithm to optimize the amplitude excitation distribution for gain low first sidelobe level and deploy it by a series-fed network. Then, this network has been used in A fixed antenna array of 10 double-sided printed dipoles.

Why is it important?
There are several studies on using Bat algorithm to optimize the radiation pattern of a linear antenna array. However, these studies mainly focus on demonstrating the advantage of the BA or propose the application of BA for digital beamformers of active antenna arrays. It is a lack of studies on real antenna arrays to assess the applicability of BA in practice. In our study, the main idea is to use BA in designing a real fixed linear antenna array with a specific requirement of FSLL reduction.
