Why is it important?

The state estimation with phasor measurement units (PMU) are powerful technique for system monitoring and control. The results of state estimation are more accurate, when using phasor measurement units in the complex power systems. The state estimation problem in electrical power system consists of many basic operations, the important of them is the achievement of the observability system. we must determined the places of PMU. In this paper, improved particle swarm optimization is chosen to solve the problem.
