Ground distance relay compensation in the presence of phase shifting transformer
What is it about?
In this study, the effects of the phase shifting transformers (PSTs) on the operation of distance relays of transmission lines are investigated.
Why is it important?
In this paper a simple and feasible method is presented to eliminate the detrimental effects of the PST (or other series compensators) on the measured impedance of the distance relays.
