Why is it important?

Oral narrative skills during the preschool years are important skills for future reading compehension. An increased understanding of the early challenges children with autism have in oral narrative skills will help direct intervention.

Perspectives

This study further expands my work on oral narrative skills in clinical populations. It also shows that the Ana Gets Lost task is an excellent tool for assessment of oral narrative production and comprehension skills in preschool-age children.
