The paper examines if the negative impact of stuttering might be associated with levels of trait-mindfulness, self-compassion, and the mental capability to view experiences from a 3rd person's perspective (aka decentering). The study included 150 Israeli adults who stutter, and showed that indeed higher levels of trait-mindfulness, self-compassion, and decentering, were associated with decreased impact of stuttering.
