What is it about?

Lignin is difficult to breakdown under neutral conditions. This work demonstrates a technology to depolymerise lignin into selective products at room temperature and atmospheric pressure with ability to recycle the catalyst. The process does not generate any toxic waste and offers environmentally friendly way of creating useful chemicals.
