Synthesis and characterisation of an N-heterocyclic carbene with spatially-defined steric impact

What is it about?

NHCs are useful ligands for metal complexes - when they are attached to metal atoms they modify their properties, allowing them to act as catalysts for chemical reactions. In this manuscript, we prepare and characterise a new NHC ligand with a very defined shape.
