What is it about?
Transesterification is one of the most desirable methods to synthesize functional ester. We developed stable new catalyst for transesterification.

Why is it important?
We report a highly stable but highly active bis(imidazole)/zinc complex as a nontoxic metal catalyst for transesterification reactions. A newly designed zinc complex led to expanded substrate generality and reuse at least five times without loss of activity under an air atmosphere.
