What is it about?

Insecticides are widely used all over the world.Acute and chronic toxicity that are occured by a variety of xenobiotic chemicals, radiation and toxins, can cause neurodegenerative diseases, ischemic damage, autoimmune disorders and many types of cancer, which depend on apoptotic processes. We have shown that pyrethroid insecticide causes apoptosis in neuronal cells.

Why is it important?

Cell death and cell death mechanisms are one of the most important elements to focus in toxicological assessment.

Perspectives

There is an etiological link between chronic insecticide exposure and various diseases (such as neurodegenerative diseases and cancer). I think that this study will contribute because the mechanism of disease formation is important in the treatment of diseases.
