What is it about?

This work demonstrates a novel and very flexible colorimetric nanoparticle-based concept for detection of phosphatases, including alkaline phosphatase (ALP). ALP is an important diagnostic biomarker for diseases of great health concern, including cancer, liver and bone disease.

This paper describes a generic technology that easily can be translated into functional assays for home and point-of-care testing of important disease biomarkers, which can reduce time and cost for providing accurate diagnosis. The same technology can also be of great use in drug development and drug screening.
