What is it about?

A thin soap film vibrates like a membrane under chopped light influence. The amplitude depends on the light intensity and on the frequency of the chopper. This can increase or shorten the life time of the film.

Why is it important?

This vibrating film may lead to the realization of an optofluidic micro-pump. This pump coud be realized with solar light and hand chopped light. It may thus find application to drug delivery at the scale of the cell in biological systems, even in remote areas.
