What is it about?

We report a method for fabricating large area semi-transparent perovskite films. Solar cell devices based on the prepared semi-transparent perovskite films as thin as 135 nm achieved an efficiency of 9.9% and a high open circuit voltage of 1.09 V.

Why is it important?

Currently, crystalline Si solar cells are the dominant PV technology, but the overall cost is still high. Perovskite solar cells have emerged as the most promising candidates for the next generation high efficiency solar cell technology. In this work, we report on the development of instrumentation and methodology for depositing semi-transparent OHP films with centimeter-scale superior uniformity (5 × 5 cm2), good crystallinity and high reproducibility.
