What is it about?

poor solubility is the major factor behind many of the problems met in peptide chemistry. From synthesis to handling and purification. The alkylation of the backbone amide has long been known to increase solubility but introduces further complications. Secondary amines are difficult to acylate. This piece of work shows how to introduce reversible alkylation into a peptide in an automated manner. It paves the way so that any peptide can be synthesised regardless of its sequence.
