Why is it important?

Nanomagnetic materials are being emerging for cancer therapies due to their ability to activate mechanosensitive ion channels of tissues. In a research endeavor we were able to functionalize deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) with Fe3O4 nanoparticles and layered dititanate sheets in a bio-based non toxic solvent system known as deep eutectic solvent. The material thus obtained showed magnetic behavior as well as anti bacterial activity against both gram positive and negative bacteria.
