What is it about?

I have used an ordinary 6B pencil to draw a carbon working electrode on to a plastic substrate to make a sensor for ppb levels of lead (Pb).

Why is it important?

This is a very simple and cheap method to make electrodes and sensors. I have shown it possible to use these to determine ppb levels of lead in environmental water.
