What is it about?
The limiting charging rate of the battery material lithium iron phosphate was investigated, using chemical oxidation of LiFePO4 by the gas nitrogen dioxide. The results show, that lithium ions can move very quickly through the electrode material lithium iron phosphate. The material thus allows for ultrafast charging times, down to less than one minute, if the battery material is in an ideal environment.
