What is it about?

We have developed a fluorescent nitric oxide sensor

Why is it important?

Using a cobalt substitution in myoglobin, the limit of detection for nitric oxide was decreased by an order of magnitude. We have developed an improved biomolecular gating system for fluorescent transduction.
