Why is it important?

This novel technique helps production of pure reactive nanoparticles as it offers advantages like container-less melting and no need for vacuum atmospheres. The properties of the produced nanoparticles is unique as particles as small as 20-30 nm can easily be synthesized. Also the spherical morphology of particles and very narrow particle size distribution is another unique feature of the products synthesized with electromagnetic levitation melting method.
