What is it about?

The material properties of MoS2 make it useful across a wide range of engineering disciplines. This work focuses on summarizing the use of MoS2 nanostructures for advanced and high capacity lithium ion batteries. It is important because this research area is extremely active, with new discoveries and publications being released all the time. In the paper, we endeavor to communicate the current state of the field, and propose areas we think are important for future study.

Why is it important?

To date, our work represents a summary of the most cutting-edge advancements of MoS2 for lithium ion batteries. We outline a number of other reviews in our publication, however ours is the first to focus entirely on the nanostructures of one material (MoS2) and how they are successfully employed in lithium ion batteries.
