What is it about?
The crystal structure of melamine cyanurate has been redetermined. This shows an ordered array of melamine and cyanuric acid. This is back up by high level calculations.
Why is it important?
We now have precise information about the way melamine sticks to cyanuric acid. It may be possible to exploit this interaction to create a sensor for melamine.
