What is it about?
To prepare CB[7] SAMs on surface would facilitate further surface modification due to the molecular recognition abilities of CB[7]. However, CB[7] is a very inert molecule and doesn't readily being derivatized. So it has been a challenge to prepare CB[7] SAMs on surface using simple chemistry. Here a facile method was reported to attach CB[7] onto surfaces using azido chemistry. This is expected to facilitate the construction of functional interfaces using supramolecular techniques.
