What is it about?
this new compound represent an innovative quinoxaline cavitand derivative, able to act as photodynamic compound
Featured Image
Why is it important?
The fullerene-quinoxaline conjugate exhibits photoinduced DNA-cleaving activity, as confirmed by preliminary photocleavage experiments carried out with a pBR322 supercoiled plasmid.
Perspectives
The results will encourage the undertaking of further studies directed at gaining insights into the binding mode and towards clarifying the molecular mechanism of DNA photodamage.
