What is it about?

Smart crystalline material with selective memory of its preparation history was found. The studied calixarene remembers image of previously included guest after its removal. Only few guests can be remembered from a series of those studied. This memory strongly depends on the guest molecular structure and can be read as an exothermic transition without mass loss at the temperature increase.
