What is it about?

Converting carbondioxide to a less harmful, energy rich molecule is an all important goal. We have in this publication shown how metathesis reactions can be used to convert carbon dioxide and any other cumulene into a more energy rich molecule.

Why is it important?

In our opinion, this option has not been explored enough. If you can do catalytic metathesis with carbon dioxide, we can convert it efficiently to more easily functionalized organic molecules.

Perspectives

Here is why it is important. 1. It will remove carbon dioxide. 2. It will make alkynes and cumulenes into more easily functionalized molecules.
