What is it about?
This is about the degradation of organic matter that was called Refractory Organic Compounds, this compounds such as MTBE aren´t destroyed by conventional treatment, in this case, we used a non-conventional treatment.

Why is it important?
Our findings show that the type of composition catalyst influence the catalytic perfomance. Ceria has a outstanding rol in oxidation reactions, due to the oxygen vacancies. Concentration of ceria modifies the oxidation states of the metal, at the surface and during the reaction due to oxygen storage capacity can give oxygens at the surface improving the oxygen dissolution in water.

I wish this article to contribute to better understand the rol of the catalyst in the oxidation reaction.
