Raman Spectroscopy of Low Dimensional Systems

What is it about?

Two dimensional materials like Graphene has generated a lot of interest. The Silicon analogue of Graphene, Silicene has a puckered (buckled) structure. We show that this buckling can be identified raman spectroscopy using a metal nanoparticles as tips.

Why is it important?

Silicene is the next hot material of this decade.
