Size selective growth of palladium nanoparticles on carbon nano-onions

What is it about?

We have first of all been able to extensively purify carbon nano onions (better than 98%) that stemmed from the catalytic cracking of methane. And then, through a green chemistry matrix, we are able to convincingly decorate palladium nanoparticles on the pristine carbon nano onions.

Why is it important?

This is the first account of the promising applications of sizable amount of pristine carbon nano onions, in terms of nanoparticle decorations.
