What is it about?

We are the first to demonstrate that technetium tetraoxoanion can be distorted in strong acids that was newer seen before. This transformation brings it to pseudo-octahedral form and change drastically its reactivity.

Why is it important?

This gives us a better understanding of the species present and add new chemical ways for synthesis of new compounds of technetium. We will be able to handle technetium more safely and to convert it to stable forms in a proper way

This will enable us with the methods of better directing technetium to the form that we desire.
