Visible light responsive drug delivery from mesoporous silica nanoparticles

What is it about?

A nanodevice is constructed in which molecules are entrapped inside the pores of a nanomaterial and are incapable of leaving the material unless exposed to visible light irradiation.

Why is it important?

The nanodevice is capable of efficient delivery of entrapped molecules upon desired stimulation with visible light, which may be applied for visible light-targeted treatment of cancer.
