Why is it important?
Our immune system is leaky by nature, thus often causing self-attacking, or autoimmunity. This autoimmunity often leads to various organ damages (kidney, lung, brain etc), some of which are fatal. Identifying responsible autoimmune repertoire and corresponding antigens will facilitate the exploration of novel biomarker and potentially druggable targets to prevent such organ damages. Autoimmunity is too often human-specific, and available animal models are limited. Our methodology could extract precious clues solely from clinical specimen.
