What is it about?
Upto current date, halitosis has not been truly defined or classified. Every bad smell is not halitosis. Every halitosis does not come from the mouth.

Why is it important?
Truly define a disease, properly classify eccording to its etiology and furthermore, select best fit and sagacious terms to describe clinical condition are necessary to correct treatment. We define the halitosis, etiologically classified. This is first on the world. Moreover, redefined some badly used terms related with halitosis, such as, halitophobia, psychosomatic, pseudo, self, imaginary halitosis.
Perspectives
Upto current date, a lot of bad/wrong/improper terms have been used in halitosis publications. For example, halitophobia or pseudo, self, imaginary halitosis are the same clinic condition that can be classified Type 5 (subjective) halitosis. According to new definition, garlic does not cause halitosis, causes garlic odor. There is not such a psychosomatic halitosis. Correct classificatin is always correct treatment schema in clinical applications. I hope, this etiological classification leads practioner to apply correct treatment schema.
